Pawdorly (“Pawdorly,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) runs the online store at pawdorly.com, including all related content, features, products, and services (the “Services”). Our store is powered by Shopify.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share your personal information when you visit our store, make a purchase, or contact us. By using the Services, you acknowledge that you’ve read and understood this policy. If this policy and our Terms of Service conflict, this policy controls how we handle your personal information.

Personal information we collect

“Personal information” means information that identifies you or can reasonably be linked to you. It doesn’t include information that is anonymous or de-identified.

Depending on how you use the Services, we may collect:

  • Contact details: your name, billing and shipping address, phone number, and email address.
  • Payment information: payment method, transaction details, and payment confirmation. Card details are processed securely by our payment providers, and we never see or store your full card number.
  • Account information: your username, password, and preferences, if you create an account.
  • Order information: the products you view, add to your cart, buy, return, or cancel, and your order history.
  • Communications: what you send us, such as customer support emails, warranty claims, and product reviews.
  • Device information: your IP address, browser, device type, and similar identifiers.
  • Usage information: how and when you browse our store, such as the pages you visit and links you click.

Where we get your information

  • From you, when you place an order, create an account, sign up for emails, or contact us.
  • Automatically, through cookies, pixels, and similar technologies when you use our store.
  • From our service providers, who collect or process information for us, such as payment processors and shipping carriers.
  • From partners and third parties, such as advertising and analytics platforms.

How we use your information

  • To run our store and fulfill your orders: processing payments, shipping orders, handling returns, refunds, and warranty claims, managing your account, and sending order and shipping updates.
  • To improve our store: understanding how customers use the Services, remembering your preferences, and recommending products you may like.
  • For marketing and advertising: sending emails or text messages if you’ve signed up, and showing you ads on other websites and social media based on your activity in our store. You can opt out at any time.
  • For security and fraud prevention: protecting your account and payments, and detecting and preventing fraud or misuse.
  • To communicate with you: answering your questions and providing customer support.
  • For legal reasons: complying with the law, responding to valid legal requests, and enforcing our terms and policies.

How we share your information

We share personal information only for the purposes in this policy:

  • With Shopify and our service providers, who help us run our business, including payment processing, order fulfillment, shipping, customer support, data analytics, email marketing, and cloud storage.
  • With advertising and marketing partners, such as Meta, Google, and TikTok, so we can show you relevant ads. These partners use your information under their own privacy policies. You can opt out of this using the “Your Privacy Choices” link in our store’s footer.
  • With your consent or at your direction, such as when we ship your order or you use a social media feature.
  • For legal and business reasons, including complying with legal obligations, responding to lawful requests, protecting our rights and customers, or as part of a merger, sale, or similar business transaction.

Our relationship with Shopify

Our store is hosted by Shopify, which collects and processes personal information about your use of the Services to provide and improve them. Information you submit is shared with Shopify and with third parties that may be located outside your country.

We also use some Shopify features that combine data from your activity in our store with data from other merchants and Shopify itself. For those features, Shopify is responsible for processing your information and for responding to your rights requests. To learn more, see the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy or visit the Shopify Privacy Portal.

Cookies and tracking technologies

We use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to keep your cart working, remember your preferences, understand store traffic, and measure and personalize ads. You can manage cookies through our cookie banner or your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how our store works.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, including Canada and many US states, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete your personal information
  • Get a copy of your information, or have it transferred to someone else
  • Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your information, or of targeted advertising, using the “Your Privacy Choices” link in our footer
  • Withdraw your consent where we rely on it
  • Unsubscribe from marketing emails or texts at any time, using the link in our emails or by replying STOP to texts. We may still send you messages about your orders.

Global Privacy Control: if you visit our store with the Global Privacy Control signal turned on, we’ll treat it as a request to opt out of sale or sharing for that browser and device, and for your account if we can link them. We don’t respond to other “Do Not Track” signals.

To make a request, email us at hello@pawdorly.com. We may need to verify your identity before we can respond. You may also use an authorized agent; we’ll ask for proof they’re authorized to act for you. We’ll respond within 30 days, or the time required by your local law. We won’t treat you differently for exercising your rights.

Data retention and security

We keep your personal information only as long as we need it to fulfill your orders, maintain your account, meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements, resolve disputes, and enforce our policies. Order records are usually kept for up to 7 years for tax purposes. After that, we delete or anonymize your information.

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including the security built into Shopify and our payment providers. However, no method of storing or sending information online is completely secure. Please don’t send sensitive information, such as card numbers, by email.

International transfers

Pawdorly is based in Canada. Our service providers, including Shopify, may store and process your information in Canada, the United States, or other countries. Information stored outside your country may be subject to that country’s laws, including access by courts and government authorities there.

Children’s privacy

Our Services aren’t intended for children. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of majority where they live, and we don’t knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we’ll delete it.

Third-party websites

Our store may link to other websites and social media platforms. We’re not responsible for their privacy practices, so please review their policies before sharing information with them. Anything you post publicly, such as on social media, may be visible to others.

Privacy Officer and complaints

Our Privacy Officer is responsible for how Pawdorly handles personal information. If you have a question or complaint about our privacy practices, email hello@pawdorly.com. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you may be able to appeal our decision by contacting us again, or file a complaint with a privacy regulator. Canadian regulators include the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada and, in Quebec, the Commission d’accès à l’information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or the law. When we do, we’ll post the new version here and update the “Last updated” date. For significant changes, we’ll let you know as required by law.
